🌐 Deep Dark Web Weekly Highlights in January W4

⚠️Source Code: Game

The developer of the game League of Le***** (hereinafter referred to as LO*) has found that source code leaked from Riot Games in the U.S. is being sold on the King Forum. On January 24, a user known as "ArkaT" on the famous hacking forum Breached made a post offering to sell LO*'s source code for $1,000,000 (about 1.2 billion Korean won). It has not been confirmed whether the seller leaked the source code directly from Riot Games, but the seller claims that the source code actually works and that the game core can be developed through this source code.

⚠️Threat Actor: China

A Chinese hacking group called "Xiao Qiying," recently launched a cyberattack on Korean websites, resulting in a situation where many websites suffered from data leakages or a paralysis of operations. Data from Korean educational institution websites were leaked through the dark web hacking forums and Telegram channels, and some websites showed evidence of successful cyberattacks. So far, a total of 12 domestic educational institutions have been attacked, but the hacking group claimed in a message left on its own channel that they have successfully attacked far more than 12.

⚠️Confidential Leak: Politics

Local websites of one of Korea's two major political parties, the Democratic Party of Korea, were cyberattacked and data was leaked. On January 20, about 10 files leaked on Telegra m's secret leak channel Leakbase were found under the title of the domestic website sanamha.dothome.co.kr. The damag ed website was discovered to be the website of the Sacheon South Sea and Hadong Regional Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea. The leaked files are in SQL format, and the size is approximately 3MB.
